Sarah M. Neiley, Attorney
Sarah is a Family Law practitioner. She represents clients in matters of dissolution of marriage, parenting rights and responsibilities, modifications of spousal and child support, post-decree custody disputes, and family law appeals.
Sarah handles sophisticated family matters involving the analysis and litigation of high asset marital estates, property and business valuations, complex incomes, complicated custodial issues, and prenuptial and postnuptial marital agreements.
Sarah understands the importance of her clients’ legal matters and how her work has long-lasting impacts in their lives and the lives of their families. As such, Sarah’s legal strategy and case management are client-driven. Sarah assists her clients in making informed, conscientious, and reasoned decisions to best achieve their goals.
Sarah completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2007, where she obtained a B.A. in both English Literature and Spanish, graduating with the highest honor and distinction of summa cum laude. After taking a few years to travel and work in the magazine industry, Sarah attended the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law where she served as a senior editor on The Denver Law Review, earning her J.D. in 2012.
During the early stages of her career, Sarah was a criminal prosecutor in Colorado’s rural and urban jurisdictions. Sarah successfully managed and prosecuted hundreds, if not thousands, of criminal matters ranging from simple misdemeanors to felony offenses that included domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and homicide. After leaving the government, Sarah entered private practice and worked for one of the largest law firms on the Western Slope as an associate in the firm’s family law and civil litigation departments.
After starting a family of her own and recognizing her true legal interests, Sarah founded Aspen Valley Law, P.C., the predecessor of Neiley & Morris, in 2019 with the intent of providing focused and efficient legal representation to family law litigants.

Mackenzie J. Morris, Attorney
Mackenzie’s legal practice is focused on Criminal Defense and Family Law. Mackenzie represents clients charged with both misdemeanor and felony crimes, including DUI, domestic violence, theft, assault and property crimes, as well as probation violations and traffic offenses. Mackenzie also represents clients in matters of dissolution of marriage, parenting rights and responsibilities, modifications of spousal and child support, post-decree custody disputes, family law appeals, and civil protection orders.
Mackenzie knows the impact criminal charges and family disputes often have on a person’s life and approaches her cases with both compassionate and aggressive representation. Mackenzie cares about telling her clients’ stories in court and she enjoys taking a stand for her clients’ rights and interests at all stages of a case, whether it is through negotiation, mediation, motions practice, family law hearings, or jury trials.
Mackenzie attended law school at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2019. While in law school, Mackenzie received the Reese Persuasive Writing Award, Outstanding Student Attorney in Criminal Defense Award, the Public Good Distinction Award, and she served as the President of the Public Interest Law Group. Throughout law school, Mackenzie also worked with a prestigious team of appellate attorneys where she participated in the representation of one of three inmates on Colorado’s Death Row. Before attending law school, Mackenzie graduated from the University of Colorado in 2013, receiving a B.A. in both Political Science and International Studies.
Mackenzie joined Aspen Valley Law, P.C. in 2023, later forming Neiley & Morris. She came to the firm after serving as a Deputy Public Defender for the State of Colorado, during which time she successfully represented hundreds of individuals charged with crimes and gained extensive litigation experience.
Outside of the law, Mackenzie enjoys hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding and fly fishing.

Zoe M. Dotson, Paralegal
Zoe is the firm’s paralegal, working with all of the firm’s attorneys as a critical member of our Legal Team. Zoe joined our firm in early 2022. Before joining the firm, Zoe held the positions of both Account Clerk and Court Clerk for the Garfield County Combined Courts. During her time as a clerk, Zoe gained intimate familiarity with the court’s documentation and filing processes, and she was responsible for managing and balancing the court’s registry account for the entire Ninth Judicial District.
Zoe is a native of the Roaring Fork Valley, and in combination with her background as a court clerk, her knowledge and resourcefulness are great assets to our firm and clients. Zoe works with efficiency and attention to detail, and she is intimately involved with each of the firm’s legal matters in which provides our clients with care, understanding, and individualized attention.
